Carman Contracting secures renewable energy contract at TS Group’s new Southampton headquarters

Carman Contracting has been awarded a contract to design and install a large-scale solar PV system at TS Group's new headquarters in Southampton.

TS Group, a multi-sector engineering and industrial services group, has recently relocated to a new 32,000 sq ft headquarters facility that more than doubles the size of its previous headquarters. The new premises comprise a mix of office and warehouse space across three units to support the company's continued growth.

We secured the contract following a recommendation from Jade Aden Interiors, a long-standing partner of Carman Contracting. The project will see our renewables team, led by Callum King, deliver renewable energy solutions across three separate units within the newly combined industrial space, with each unit operating on its own electricity meter.

Our scope of work includes the design and installation of three solar systems, each with its own meter, across the newly combined industrial space. A total of 228 solar panels will be installed, with a maximum output of 106 kWp.  Once installed, the system is estimated to generate approximately 115MWh of renewable electricity annually.

A key element of the project has been designing a solution that accounts for the differing power requirements throughout the building. This will enable more power to be redistributed to where it is needed most. For example, the large office space will not need as much power as parts of the building housing machinery.

The installation is scheduled to take approximately two weeks and adds to our growing portfolio of commercial renewable energy projects across the South of England.
